Accused of assault, scandal and arrested
Jackson Mahomes was accused of assaulting Aspen Vaugn, the owner of Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kansas. This was on Feb 25, 2023, in Johnson County.
The then 22 years old TikTok star was also accused of shoving a 19 years old male waiter. Jackson was accused of forcibly kissing the 40-year old restaurant owner several times. This led to him being booked into Johnson County Detention Center on one count of battery and three counts of aggravated sexual battery.
He arrived at the restaurant in the evening of Feb 25, at about 9:30 pm and in the company of five friends. They proceeded to the restaurant’s basement office that is downstairs and is only accessible to the employees. This is when the young male waiter tried to enter the office, but was shoved out by Jackson.
Jackson and his friends then went to the VIP room that is upstairs and it is here that the owner, after getting the smell of marijuana coming from the VIP room, told them to stop smoking in her restaurant.
Seemingly intoxicated, Mahomes later requested to speak with the owner, in the basement office, about the earlier shoving incident. He then, according to Aspen, grabbed her by the neck and forcibly kissed her 3 times as she tried to push him off.
However, he was later released from the county jail on a $100,000 bond.

On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, Jackson appeared in court and prosecutors asked the judge to drop the three felony counts of aggravated sexual battery. The three felony charges were then officially dropped citing lack of cooperation from Aspen Vaugn.

Aspen Vaugn closed the restaurant in August 2023. She said the reasons for the closing were negative publicity due to the case, death threats, harassment and vandalism of her business.
